It always was very natural for me. I’ve always liked helping people learn.

3. Who or what inspired you to be a teacher?

Mr. Ritter, he was actually my Creative Writing Teacher in high school. He helped me open my eyes to the possibility of teaching

4. When did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

Sophomore year in college. I became an undergraduate teaching assistant and loved it.

I taught for 2 years at Northwest High School and 2 years at SouthWest Edgecombe High School in Pinetops, North Carolina

6. What do you like about the high school so far?

I really like the people here (students and faculty). The people are what make Sycamore so great.

7. What are your hobbies/what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love spending time with my daughter, Katelynn. I also am a sports junkie, especially golf.

8. What is one thing that makes you different from the other teachers at the high school?

I think it’s my sense of humor. I’d like to think that my students are able to have a good laugh in my class. It helps ease the tension of school.
